MMLA Video Library Rules:
1. Video library membership is free for MMLA members. Non-MMLA Members will have to purchase annual video library membership. The membership fee is $20 for a calendar year (Jan to Dec) and is non-refundable/non-transferrable. They get unlimited access to videos and can rent any DVD/VCD set depending on its availability at that time.
2. There is no family membership. It is per individual in case of Non-MMLA members whereas it is on the Primary Member for MMLA member.
3. Video library membership and Book Library membership would be treated separately. People can choose to have either or both the memberships.
4. This membership needs to be renewed every calendar year from Jan to Dec. The membership is not prorated. However, there is an exception that if a person takes membership after 30th June, then he/she can pay a membership fee for only 6 months which is $ 10.00, valid till the end of the year.
5. Library membership will require a one-time refundable security deposit from both members and non-members of $10.
6. This security deposit will be confiscated in its entirety for a damaged or lost video or late return after 10 days. Member will have to pay another $10 deposit to continue their membership, in such situations.
7. The issued movie DVD/VCD set (since there can be more than one DVDs / VCDs of the movie in the set) should be returned in its entirety within 1 week from the date of issue. DVD/VCD set returned late will be charged $1 per day late fee. If the patron returns the DVD/VCD SET SET/VCD after 10 days from the ‘expected date of return’, their security deposit would be confiscated and they would be required to repay $10 security deposit to continue their membership, in such situations.
8. Videos are rented out for duration of 1 week. Members, who return their DVD/VCD set earlier than a week, would still have to wait for the completion of week (expected date of return), to be issued a new DVD/VCD set.
9. For MMLA members, the videos are to be rented under the name of Primary Member ONLY.
10. The videos can be returned (the same way the books from book library are returned) during the library hours posted by the library hosts.
11. Videos rented at a certain location should be returned to the same location. If they are late, then it is the member’s responsibility to ensure that the DVD/VCD is returned in mail or in person to the next location within 10 days of the expected date of return or else the security deposit is subject to confiscation.
12. Members are responsible for the original covers of the DVD/VCD. They would be charged
$ 2.00 for the lost or damaged cover.
13. Every member is required to sign a ‘Compliance agreement’ at the time of taking MMLA Video Library membership.
