Back to the sahityalaya main page
The sahityalay allows you to share the books you have loved with others.
There are many ways of doing it:
- donating books
- lending books for n calendar years
- buy books from the wishlist for the sahityalay
- donate money
- tell others about the sahityalaya
- any other suggestions
We would like to suggest a few guidelines about doing it: -
- We prefer you donating books (rather than loaning) since then you do not have to worry about possible yearly renewals, and other such issues.
- Please consider lending/donating books that you believe will appeal a wide audience.
- Please do not lend/donate books that you feel are not worth reading.
- Books that are on loan will be cared for as well as MMLA's own books, but normal wear and tear is to be expected from handling. (If the book is utterly mutilated due to mishandling, we could consider reimbursing. This will have to be dealt with on a per case basis).
- Donated books will be numbered in the MMLA 10000 series and stamped with MMLA name.
- Books on loan will be included in the 10500 series and NOT stamped with MMLA name. Do consider puting your name labels on loaned items.
- In either case, you will be acknowledged.
- Items can be brought to the MMLA program, or you can contact one of the mobile center LJs.
- We reserve the right to not accept particular books.
- You can also consider contributing cash towards buying new books.
- A wish list is being updated. If you are returning from India (or even otherwise), you could consider buying one of these books and donating it to the sahityalay. If you do decide to buy one, please get in touch with us in order to avoid duplicates.
